Visa Information for International Participants

If you require a short-term business visa to attend the congress in Japan, we highly recommend beginning the application process well in advance.

In most cases, a tourist visa may be sufficient for entry to Japan for the conference. However, if you are unsure of the visa type required, we advise applying for a short-term business visa as a precaution.

You can verify the visa requirements by visiting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website under the section titled "Visa Application Procedures." Alternatively, you may consult the Consular Section of the nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate for guidance:

For those needing a short-term business visa, an official invitation letter and other supporting documents from the congress organizers will be required to complete your application. Please contact the secretariat to request the required documents and further information.

Once you receive these documents, bring them to the Japanese Embassy or Consulate near your location to apply for the visa.

Please note that a tourist visa is generally valid for three months from the date of issuance, while the validity period of a business visa may vary.

Visa Document Issuance Timeline
Visa-related documents typically take around ten (10) business days to process and issue the invitation letter and other supporting materials.
